A Softer, Smoother Ride for Your Classic Willys Jeep
One of the biggest complaints about original Willys flat-fender Jeeps is their notoriously stiff, rough ride. The factory leaf springs are only 1-3/4” wide and utilize numerous individual leaves, resulting in a suspension that can feel harsh and unforgiving, especially on uneven roads and trails.
Our USA-made, 2-1/2” wide YJ-style leaf springs offer a significant improvement over the original suspension design.
By utilizing wider springs with fewer individual leaves, these springs are designed to provide a much softer, more flexible suspension while maintaining the strength needed for your vintage Willys Jeep.
Benefits of the wider, fewer-leaf design include:
Want Even More Suspension Flexibility?
For enthusiasts looking for longer front springs, our rear leaf springs can also be installed in the front.
By purchasing four individual rear springs, customers can build a long-spring suspension conversion using rear-length springs at all four corners.
Some builders prefer this configuration because longer springs can provide additional suspension travel and a smoother, more compliant ride when properly installed.
This setup requires relocating the spring hangers to accommodate the longer springs.
Important Conversion Requirements
These are custom suspension conversion springs, not direct bolt-in replacements.
Installation requires relocated spring hangers, YJ-compatible spring hangers and shackles, and custom spring plates designed for 2-1/2” wide leaf springs. Additional suspension modifications and proper fabrication may be necessary.
Available individually as front or rear springs, or as a complete four-spring kit containing two fronts and two rears.
