Check out this license plate bracket with light for a period correct bracket. This bracket has a chrome housing on the top and looks very similar to the license plate brackets for on the rear of the Station Wagons and Jeepster Commandos. If you can't find a hard to get original this is a very close match. This bracket can be used on the front or back of the vehicle, although it more appropriately goes on the back. Fits:

steady as she goes

With my overdrive installed my cj3a can go 50 mph . At that speed the steering is a tiny bit loose no wobble but the skyjacker stabilizer keeps me in control at all times great product

Perfect fit and operation, lubrication was light but adequate

Excellent quality part, the 1953 original had no plastic sheath like the new one. For period correct accuracy it might have been possible to strip off the outer layer.

Easy install and exactly what I needed. Attached to the fiberglass tailgate. Drilled as needed. Love 20 minute projects! Now its time to get that inspection sticker!
