1/2" thread U bolt for the rear Dana 44. Includes U bolt, 2 nuts and 2 washers. 4 are required. These U bolts are the heavy duty 1/2" and may require that you drill out your spring plate to 1/2". The are 3" on center just like the 999546 but larger diameter. Fits:

  • Willys M38-A1 (1952-1963) w/ Dana 44 Rear Axle.

Good product, different application

Quality of part is solid. Delivery was faster than expected. I used this part on a Jeepster with an automatic transmission. The parts were listed for a Jeepster with a manual, but photos and lengths matched my vehicle. Hard to know what parts and mods have been made to a 53 year old vehicle .

These are a perfect replacement. I only had to shorten the threads a little to have a factory length.

owner failed to recall modification

CJ-3A: remove 41 rear axle. Replaced with a 44 flanged axle. Forgot about u-bolt/axle size until went to install the rear springs. Called and ordered the 44 nu-bolt bag. Easy-peezy. A happy customer.
