Front disc brake kit for the Planar suspension found on the 48-51 Jeepster and 46-55 2WD Station Wagon. This is the first and only disc brake kit on the market for these vehicles. This kit was made by the experts at JeepsterMan. You finally have a solution to stop your Willys Jeepster or Willys Station Wagon. This kit includes everything you need and includes free shipping to the 48 contiguous!!!!! This is a very basic install and in my opinion installs easier than replacing the drums and shoes. This kit is a must for those with safety and quality in mind.

  • New 1″ thick rotors and 11" diameter, 5x4.5 bolt pattern just like the originals. Rotor is a 2WD and includes a new hub, studs included in rotor/hub. Lug nuts included.
  • New rubber hoses with banjo bolts for calipers
  • Disc brake mounting brackets and spacers, exclusively designed and tested by the JeepsterMan crew. Loaded GM style calipers, GM style pads, and all banjo bolts/mounting hardware, all wear parts can be purchased at your local parts store.
  • New bearings and axle seals, spacers 1/2" wheel spacers that allow you to use your stock wheels while still keeping the weight of the car on the hub and spindle.
  • Detailed instructions
  • Options: Extra Fee for steel braided hoses.

Note: This kit does require very minor grinding on the tie rod bracket. Our kits will work with stock 15″ wheels. If you are using a disc/drum setup, a proportioning valve is recommended, we sell this item and can help you with any brake upgrades. Fits:

  • 1948-1951 Willys Overland Jeepster.
  • 1946-1955 Willys Overland Station Wagon, 2WD only with Planar suspension.

Note: There is a $25 freight fee due to weight.

Disc Brake Conversion Kit, 1946-1955, Willys Jeepster

The caliper bracket lines up with the spinal and caliper very well. The bearing adapter went on easily I used a piece of schedule 40 pvc and a rubber mallet to install them. Putting on the rotors went ok but the carter keys barely had enough hole to castle nut to get the carter pin in.The main thing that needs to be added is all of the torque specs and part numbers for replacement parts.

’49 Jeepster Disc Braake Conversion

The installation went pretty smoothly, with only one hiccup. The four nuts for the larger bolts were missing. Stopping power increased noticeably, but I understand the addition of a proportioning valve will make it even better. Thanks for the video and step-by-step instructions.

Easy ordering!

Was able to get a disc brake conversion kit for my 1949 Jeepster. Couldn’t find it ANYWHERE else! Really appreciate the fine folks at “The JeepsterMan”…they’ve been very helpful!

Awesome Engineering/Weak Shipping

Very clever kit to fit a GM floating caliper onto the stock Planar spindle!

Order fulfillment/shipping fell down on the job as I was short the half-inch spacers, and my hardware bag was all messed up and required a trip to the hardware store. They also did not ship the instructions in the box.

I have about 200 miles in short trips and everything seems to be working well! The great improvement over the stock drum arrangement which was in need of a major rebuild; the disk kit really simplified bringing the Jeepster up to safe, roadworthy status. Technically, I am very impressed with your kit!
